Maverick Builders Afternoon - Summer Camp 2020-06/01 to 06/05
Maverick Builders Afternoon Classes
This class is for:
Mechanical engineering only (non-motorized mechanisms)
Perfect for age 4-6
Anyone interested in mechanisms – 2 hours
We meet every day, for 5 days.
Monday – Friday: 1 pm – 4 pm (2 hours of coaching)
Break daily: 2 pm – 3 pm (to prevent digital fatigue)
Cost: $100 (10 hours)
You like making stuff with your hands, right?
Have you ever wondered if joining robotics will help you make even more?
Then you will want to know about A. I. Light Up!
We can help you make just about anything you can dream up!
In our school, from the very first minute, you are making stuff—a thing—a mess!
The best thing about our academy, is we help you take your ideas out of you, and into this real world.
By showing you how to build from scratch.
Why? Because you can!
Because keeping things static (not moving--like regular LEGO sets) is borrrrring!
Be a change maker.
Learn the moves.
Join our large community of curious doers.
From mind, to design, in minutes.
You can create anything.
I recently saw a research done by business professors Page Moreau and Marit Gundersen Engset.
It turns out HOW you play with LEGO affects your creativity.
Their research strongly suggests that you'll reap more creative benefits if you "free-build"--doing what you will with a random collection of pieces--as opposed to building something from a well-defined LEGO kit by following the instructions to letter.
This type of free-build is training your student’s divergent thinking ability.
There's a time and a place for the convergent thinking, fostered by LEGO’s kit-building style: reaching a single answer, outcome, or solution as fast as possible to a well-defined goal
And then, there's a time and a place for the divergent thinking fostered by free-building: can you find multiple answers, outcomes, or solutions to a loosely-defined goal?
Join me in becoming a maverick builder, where we teach you:
- Just how do we make movements using LEGO elements possible (no electronics necessary).
- And from there, how can you make multiple, divergent outcomes, with whatever kinds of material you can find, to add and make your creation come alive and become the Maverick Builder.
One of the most asked question we get is, Do we get to keep our robots? Now YOU can!
Purchase one kit, and join us for a week for our summer 5-Day, live robotics challenges and coaching.
We teach classical mechanics through engineering building and designing challenges that reinforces the physics of how things work.
We cover motion, forces, stability, integrity, structure, work, and energy.
The students become adept in applied engineering and physics and math.
Build to think.
Invent your future.
